Where are the robotics companies? This post ranks the ten countries with the most evidenced companies in the Robotics Census. The ranking is computed from the census database at build time; it is not an estimate, a survey or a market forecast, but a count of companies the census can cite evidence for.

The ten leading countries hold 462 of the 509 published companies, 90.8 percent of the census1.

What drives the clustering
Two dataset effects shape this ranking, and honest reading requires both. The census's underlying datasets are the EU CORDIS open data on funded research participants23 and the public member roster of A3, a US-based industry association4. CORDIS coverage is deepest for EU member states; the A3 roster is deepest for the United States. A country outside both nets can host robotics companies the census does not yet track.
The counts are therefore floors. They are exact for what they claim, the number of companies with citable evidence in the census, and they will move as new evidence lands. The statistics page always carries the current per-country table for every country, not only the top ten.
